About Elichia in Essence

I use to be asleep. Not in the normal sense of the word but asleep to the happenings in and around me. The unconscious decisions I was making. Conforming to a norm that wasn't necessarily mine.

I use to be closed off to the beauty my breath holds. The simplicity and clarity that it would gift my life. The power that I would find deep within my being.

Man, if I had known this all along time ago things would have been different.

But in the same breath (excuse the pun) if I hadn't gone through the struggles I wouldn't be able to share the love I have for my breath and how it can transform any difficult moment into a moment of clarity, peace and stillness.

I use to be asleep, I was completely lost in the rat race of a fast paced society and I was being swallowed  alive. I was constantly overwhelmed  with deadlines and trying to prove that I could keep up with anyone and everyone. Success or what I characterised as success was my only driving force.

I was very good at being good, I was the one to get the job done, sitting at the boardroom table making big decisions but at the end of the day not  knowing if I had eaten or even peed that day.

Yoga came to me one day out of the blue. It was a love/hate relationship but I was instantly curious to this feeling I experienced during and after the class. I would go on to become a student of yoga, a student of living awake.

I have a degree in Communication science as well as in the Holistic beauty industry. I have an immense passion for non verbal and verbal communication and I came to discover Yoga to be the best form I have found.

I am a yoga teacher and I facilitate many different movement and mindfulness classes and events.

I have a Teacher training qualification in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Budokon Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga. I have done many additional learning through the years and continue to do so as often as I can.

They say if you want to learn something, teach somebody.

Yoga to me is not something that we do but rather a way of living.

My intention is to work with individuals, who are curious and open to embrace continuous growth within themselves. Every person is at their own stage of spiritual evolution, and no path will be the same. My focus is to hold space for you or nudge you towards ;) what it is your are seeking more of in your life.
